Coat of Arms – Free Masons RC
The Coat-of-Arms is comprised of symbols that represent icons (or tenets) which are special or sacred to our Fraternity. Starting at the bottom is a banner which contains words in Latin meaning Fidelity, Honor, and Virtue. These tenets are the foundation upon which our Fraternity is built. “Fidelity to our trust, Honor to ourselves and our Fraternity, and Virtue to be the rule and guide of our conduct.”
In the center we find the Bald Eagle and the American Flag, both symbols of our Nation, which we are required by the Fraternity to Honor and Protect with Patriotic fervor and to which every citizen should pay particular duty and respect.
The Swords represent the means by which we should protect and defend our Country, the Fraternity, our worthy Brother Masons, our Families, and the Secret Arts, Parts, and Points with which we have been entrusted.
The Rubies in the hilt and handle of the Swords represent the Blood of our Brothers who have gone before. Above the center are found the Square and Compasses. As Masons we are taught the particular uses with which we, as Free and Accepted Masons are to make of them.
The letters “R” “C” found just below, represent our status as a “Riding Club”. We must always pay particular attention that we never refer to our Club as a “Motorcycle Club”, neither should we ever refer to our Shield as “Colors”.
At the top we find the banner containing not only the name of our Club, but a description of who we are. We are freeborn men of lawful age who have come together to form a society of Friends and Brothers; a Brotherhood based on Charity, Love, Respect, and Duty. In addition to this, we have bound ourselves by a further love, that of motorcycles and the will to ride!
